It’s a damn shame to sift through all of the gifts submitted on my events and be able to tell who will NOT make it in the IM biz..

What I see most people doing latley is putting far too much crap on their opt in and download pages..

Trying to monetize these two pages is a fatal mistake most marketers fail from.

They are destined to be serving my dinner or cleaning off the table at the restaurant soon.

This may sound harsh, but I am not one much for babying someone though the ever so simple task of using a giveaway event to build their list.

I will lay out some of the things I have noticed a lot of people doing to their pages that will cause inevitable failure…

* putting forced audio or video on either page.

* placing banners on either page

* using popups on either page.

* over hyping and providing too much reading material on both pages.

* trying to sell them something before they get their download link.

In a nutshell, be as simple and generous as possible..

You see, the whole point is to build your list…
Once they are on your list, do whatever you want.

Now for some helpful pointers

* Use an image of yourself at the bottom of your pages to identify with your potential new subscriber.

* Use a handwritten signature under your image, it adds professianlism to it.

* Provide credentials (address, phone number) to show them you have nothing to hide.

* Make the “gift getting” a painless fast process.

If more marketers would take at least SOME of this advice, even just to try and prove me wrong, they would enjoy much better results.
